People of Sombor got their first bathing beaches when the Great Bačka Canal was built in 18th century. In the 30s of this century, the Strand was built on the left side of Apatin Bridge the same place where it is now. Today, the town bathing beach has:
- an outdoor olympic swimming pool 50m x 25m
- an outdoor big swimming pool 25m x 8m
- beach volley fields
- small football fields
- children’s playgrounds.
