A Serbian academician Miro Vuksanović spoke at the ceremony. “…into the middle of the Town that in his short stories becomes the capital of Serbian literature, finally, but albeit at the right time, by right and by merits, Veljko Petrović has arrived as the spitting image of himself, and by the hardships of the people who used to say, as he also did for all the times, that this town – Sombor of Mine, is in fact Ravangrad
of Mine”. In his work, Veljko Petrović made Sombor famous as Ravangrad.
